Afternoon Tea in The Lord Mayor’s Lounge

Floral Afternoon Tea at The Shelbourne

Continuing in its tradition of exquisitely themed afternoon teas, The Shelbourne adds a sweetly seasonal Floral Afternoon Tea to the menu, available daily in the Lord Mayor’s Lounge daily  until September 30th 2017.

Alongside the essential elements of a traditional afternoon tea – the selection of impeccably dainty open and finger sandwiches, homemade buttermilk scones with clotted cream and Shelbourne jams, all accompanied by a tea of choice from the range of twenty-one loose leaf teas or one of The Shelbourne specialty coffees – this new themed afternoon tea focuses on flowers.

The talented pastry team at The Shelbourne have created a delightful bouquet of pretty blooms that taste as good as they look with Floral Afternoon Tea, with four deliciously elegant flower tributes. ‘The Flower Pot’ has light mascarpone cream, coffee soaked Savoiardi biscuit and a chocolate sable crumble, ‘The Rose’ is a macaroon filled with rose and strawberry paté de fruit with pistachio ganache, ‘The Daisy Chain’ brings together lemon mousse, a raspberry jelly insert and poppy seed shortbread, and the ‘Cherry Blossom’ is a chocolate pecan brownie with cherry cheesecake, cherry jam and chocolate mousse.

Set in the Lord Mayor’s Lounge overlooking St. Stephen’s Green, the city’s favourite garden, a room also decorated with the talents of the hotel’s own in-house florists, Floral Afternoon Tea at The Shelbourne is an appropriate tribute to this lush and lovely time of year.

Available daily at The Shelbourne until September 30th 2017, for €49 per person for Classic Floral Afternoon Tea and €64 for Champagne Floral Afternoon Tea.
